your wellbeing in good hands

Ontocratos

We named our house Ontocratos:

Ontos= true BEING in all its aspects: physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and also socially, culturally.  As a 'soul' being you are also a creating part of the greater whole.

Cratos= the intelligent force that creates space for ‘true being’

Ontocratos is experiencing the intelligent, creative power of who you really are!  It is remembering who you are and why you are here.

Ontocratos implies conscious living and conscious dying:

'bewust leven, bewust sterven'.

our vision

Ontocratos is based on the theory of salutogenesis, that which makes and keeps us healthy as an inspired being: physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.  Our focus is on inclusive, holistic prevention, treatment and aftercare.

Becoming aware of the stories we tell ourselves and what drives our behaviour plays a crucial role in this.  Our perception is also determined by our environment.  Epigenetics shows us that the expression of our genes is influenced by the ecosystem we are surrounded by.  Our brain’s neuroplasticity testifies to the enormous physical and mental resilience of humanity.

Becoming aware also of the wisdom of our body, which often tells us what our head doesn’t know yet, is the other pole.  Our heart may lead the way.  When we learn to lovingly embrace what is stored in our body’s memory, we liberate ourselves and our environment.  Our heart is the gateway to freedom.

At Ontocratos we work from the heart.  That enveloping, nourishing warmth is the basis of all of our care, to live life to the fullest, whatever phase we are in.  Aware of the fact that we are more than just our bodies.  That we are active participants in the miracle and mystery that life is.  Life which manifests itself in the paradox of everything having an ending while at the same time transcending time and space.

the 5 elements
that strengthen your
self healing ability
icon earth Ontocratos Health House

earth
The earth element represents the physical.  The body is a source of inner wisdom and information that we can’t find in our head.  Disturbances in this element are physical complaints such as pain and discomfort, illness, fatigue, stiffness, inflammation, insomnia, etc.  This can be the result of not being properly grounded or being insufficiently anchored in our body.

water

Water represents emotions. Emotion is energy in motion: emotions are short-lived and set us in motion.  When we store our (unwanted) emotions in our body we get out of balance.  The basis is often a negative judgment, while emotions are information and they tell us something about what lives deep inside.   Emotional imbalance manifests itself in fears, depression, anger, sadness, lethargy,…

Icon air Ontocratos health house

air

The air element represents the mental: thoughts, convictions, beliefs, knowledge, information, creativity and wisdom.  Thoughts are not good or bad but they can support us or fight against us, just like limiting beliefs, for instance: “I am terminally ill” or “there is nothing I can do”.   Regardless of illness, thoughts as “I can’t do this” or “there is no point in this” aren’t helpful to move us forward in our life journey.

Icon fire Ontocratos health house

fire

The fire element represents the social dimension, that which connects us to each other.  Relationships are an important source of vitality in feeling supported by someone else and the universe.  Fire also represents the heart and living from the heart, a great challenge in western society.

Disturbances in the fire element often lead to relational problems, with our partners, children, friends, at work, with society and with ourselves.

Icon Aether Ontocratos health house

aether

Aether is the spiritual dimension that connects us to the greater whole. Aether expresses itself in meaning and the explanation we give to everything, that which 'inspires' us and makes us wonder.  It is the love that makes us a better human.  It leads us to the mystery of life, which surpasses rationality.

When there is imbalance in this element, we can experience meaninglessness, develop fear of death, feel empty and bottomless, lonely and closed off from everything and everybody.
